Cheers, but unable to book what restrictions is the email telling you, as web site gives none. But tells me the trip I am trying to book is not part of promo!

  • Need to book by Feb 10th and travel by 31st March

    Think it's Dover-Calais return only

We've had this in previous years, is a good offer. You get given the vouchers for the free wine and 241 meal when you check in, both redeemable on the outward journey only.

that's annoying! I got my email last night, but haven't yet tried to book. Probably just the website not ready or something equally techie lol.

Agree about the wine. JP Chenet is not my wine of choice... :o

Shopping - obvious choice for me is Cite Europe in Calais. Shopping center with H&M, Naf Naf, and other clothes stores, jewellers, etc. There's Carrefour (supermarket that sells everything incl. lovely fresh fruit flans).

10 minutes from the ferry terminal along A16, exit 12 or 14.

Or you could venture into Calais itself, have a look at https://www.calais.ws

We shop at Auchan or Carrefour. Do some research before you go, both have websites so you can compare prices, no point in bringing back something that you can get the same price in tesco, for example.

We don't take DD. She gets bored "shopping" and she takes up valuable space :p (we did it once. Never again. A mardy 13 yo is not the best companion!!)

HINT: to avoid overloading the car, we buy bag-in-box wine. Otherwise you have the weight of the bottles too.
