AFAIK, and please someone correct me if I'm worng, but the childcare element of tax credits covers a fair bit of the fees, something like 70 - 80%.
I'm afraid, there isn't much help out there for grandparents looking after their grandchildren.0 -
Maybe the daughter should find other childcare which tax creidts could help towards the cost so your mum can work?My mum has put aside her job in order to help out. Now if we want to get onto the conversation of tax payers money....then how about my sister doesn't work at all, and can claim even more benefits???? why? because she enjoys work and has pride. Thank you for your amazing response!
I'd never have my mum not working just to look after my children while I work.0 -
Even on a full time wage being a lone parent she should receive a fair wack of childcare payments, I know my sister did and she earns a good wage.Hi there,

Yes, its due to other circumstances as well, my sister isn't just landing my Niece on her grandmother. We all love her dearly and can maybe look at other options for sure. I think my mum just wants to be helpful, but now it is becoming a little difficult. Thanks thouigh!0
