Hi My boiler 2 years old is broke. When the hot water is run the hot water light comes on and the fans start up and sounds normal but their is no flame lit. So i cant get CH on or hot water. It has error code e113 i think it is. Which is the gas supply but i know we have gas so that isnt the problem. Any suggestions? The bar is also between 1 and 2 thanks

- If the boiler is displaying error code E133, check to see if the condensate pipe is located outside, as it may be frozen. It is a plastic pipe that leads into the drainage
- To unfreeze the pipe, the best solution is to pour hot, but not boiling, water across the length of the plastic pipe until it has defrosted. This could take around 30 minutes, but the boiler will not light until this pipe has cleared
- Once the pipe has thawed out, the boiler needs to be reset, and then should fire up and run as normal

thanks, its not that. Its not frozen, can anyone suggest anything else. I found on another forum someone mentioned something about a button you can press that may have tripped on the flow pipe? I have someone coming out anyway but i have never used him before, wether or not he turns up i don't know but thought i may be able to rectify the problem if its simple myself before he comes. Obviously im not going to be fiddling with anything but if itsd something as simple as pressing a button somewhere then i can do that0

Very often it is the spark electrode that has either got covered in crud or bent out of adjustment.
Either needs cleaning or replacing, but needs to be done by a gas engineer. Probably a good service wouldn't go amiss at the same time.0 -
Had the gas registered bloke out today, never used him before. He tested everything everything was fine except he 'THINKS' it maybe the gas valve. He said if you get a bit of water in it then its had it?? The gas in my area isnt very good as it has a bit of water in it (so he said) 175 quid and to fit it aswell! My plumber cant come as he has cracked ribs! He said the price is reasonable as he will fit it for that aswell. The plumber that came out said he has never had to change one in a baxi as they are such good boilers. But he cant find anything else wrong with it, he said he will service it for me too when he does the job. Does this sound right to any of you out their?0

as above really.
sounds like either the gas valve or maybe the spark electrode.Get some gorm.0 -
Can't say from here, but I've never had a gas valve go on one of these, but there is always a first time.
Is he going to give your money back if he has made a wrong diagnosis? If I cannot fault a boiler when I am there, I do not tend to guess what the fault is. On a rare occasion that I do, I tell the customer that I won't bill them for a week to see how things go.
Did he check the flame sensing electrode? Did he remove the spark electrode and check for a good spark?
Personally, when confronted with an intermittent fault such as this, I would replace the cheapest components first, i.e. the spark electrode and/or the flame sensing electrode, then see how things go.
Nothing against your gas man, but water in the gas is a bit of an extreme long shot! If that is the case, which I doubt, then everyone's gas valves would be kaput and your new one won't last long either!!0 -
he changed the gas valve, and it worked
thanks everyone for your suggestions
