lost all my bookmarks

i use mozilla firefox and this enables me to quickly access my sites such as MSE my bank, credit card accounts ETC. but today i have lost all my bookmarks although i can get most back i cant see why i should lose all these bookmarks has anybody got any ideas.

Firefox (FF) usually stores backups of the Bookmarks in C:\Documents and Settings\[Your login/user name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[ab1cdef].default\bookmarkbackups (it does for me anyway. The above path is in WinXP - it may be different if you're using another OS).

With FF closed, copy the latest backup file from the above folder into C:\Documents and Settings\[Your login/user name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[ab1cdef].default & rename it to bookmarks. Then fire up FF to see if it has worked. G

if that is not working you could try a system restore to a day before you lost the book marks .If you get them back have a look at google brower synce its an extension that stores your book marks safey and securely off your pc and enables you to reestore quicky

It's a familiar problem with Firefox, you can get Bookmark Backups here to back them up along with other settings
