Could we have a general Grocery Shopping thread?

I wondered if we could have a general Grocery shopping thread in the OS section? I know that there is now a whole subforum but to be honest it's not always a very nice place to inhabit and threads don't get the number of responses that OS threads generally get.
It would be nice to be able to just have a general discussion about the cost of food etc. (and then we might not go OT in other threads
)
I knooooowww that I should have put this in the Feedback section but I wonder if others feel the same way and maybe we might be allowed a thread?
Thank you (and sorry!)

Hi Pitlanepiglet,
While I understand where you're coming from I'm afraid that MSE is now a masive forum and if we all posted what we wanted, where we wanted, just because we prefer a certain board, the forums would be chaotic and nobody would be able to find the moneysaving information that they needed.
Grocery shopping used to be incorporated into the Old Style board but as the forums grew Martin made the decision to split the Grocery threads into their own board and asked bg's to move all Grocery threads there.
I know you say that you find the Grocery Board unfriendly (that hasn't been my experience) but there is a great deal of useful information there that is being regularly updated by many helpful members of MSE. If Old Stylers who feel that it is an unfriendly board were to post there more regularly then perhaps there would be more responses and they may find it more user friendly.
As you have said, this thread would be better on the Site Suggestions board so I'll move it over there once you've had some more input.

Hi Pink-Winged,
Thanks for responding and for leaving the thread for a while.
It's threads like https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2968296 where people are just rude for the sake of it that I find difficult. Maybe it needs more aggressive modding or maybe I'm just sensitive!
Plus many of the other threads get responses that say "well things are more expensive it's the government's fault" and comments like that.
I really feel that I've missed out on foodie things since the boards were changed and I miss being able to ask for ideas about getting well priced OS food and getting sensible responses.
I guess partially whilst it's all MSE, the Food and Grocery board just doesn't have an OS slant to it?
Is it possible that Martin could consider allowing one "OS Food" thread if there appears to be interest in it?
Thanks againPiglet

What about the grocery challenge thread? I am guilty of logging on to post my spends and not reading enough of what other people have posted - too busy trying to keep up with the "It's tough..." thread - but lots of useful stuff - how much people have spent and what they got for their money, what offers are on where etc, ways of stretching things further - when I do take time to read properly. Worth having a look?Jan 2011 GC £300/£150.79 (2 adults, 2 teens, working dog, includes food/cleaning/toiletries)0

Actually, having just looked at the thread that Pitlanepiglet highlighted, it has got a little out of hand and isn't very helpful or kind! I do hope all the threads over there aren't similar!
I'll stick on OS :-)Aiming to be debt & mortgage free by November 2018!0 -
wow, I posted on that thread earlier, it has got totally out for order. I do agree that a lot of people post nasty or insulting things on that board - sometimes its not a nice place to be :-(0

I've got to say i do read the posts on the board mentioned and i have to agree. I do worry about posting there as you do get some very unhelpful replies and yes i have to agree that the o/s board is a much nicer and understanding board...however, i do understand what pink-winged is saying and i don't know the answer to this problem:(0
