Cleaning a Carronite bath

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes: have just had a new bathroom installed with a carronite bath - acrylic with steel reinforcement (I think!). Obviously I dont want to scratch the surface by using incorrect cleaning materials - can anybody advise me on what I can or cannot use. I've discovered on the net something called Astonish bathroom cleaner which claims to be ok for acrylic, however I think you can probably only get it from places like Bettaware and our rep hasnt called round for ages. Is there anything else that I can buy in an ordinary supermarket that would be useful?
thanks
thanks

I've just checked in my 'How clean is your house book?' [present from MIL, think she may've been hinting... ]
They say ...check with the manufacturer first...but the following should be ok for plastic baths:
1) A mild detergent such as washing up liquid, with a soft cloth. Dry with a towel to prevent water spots (because you don't have enough to do already...;) )
2) They also recommend biological washing powder for very dirty baths.Fill bath with warm water, add a couple of cups of powder & leave overnight. Rinse & buff dry. Helpfully they suggest you can add any dirty mens shirts to this. So if you have a dirty man in the house this may be the solution for you!
3) For a stubborn mark use the mildest abrasive-a paste of baking soda & water OR try cream of tartar & then rub the surface with half a lemon. Rinse thoroughly (well you'd have to wouldn't you?!)
I've used astonish, on my aga, it doesn't seem to scratch but I wasn't that impressed with its cleaning power. I use washing up liquid & it does the job just as well without the faff.0 -
Thanks, I used washing up liquid in the end - it was a right faff. Took AGES to get rid of all the bubbles cos we havent had the shower put in yet so I only had tap-power to swish the soapy water away with
.
