Grout/sealant for stone shower tray

Hi all
Hope someone can help. I had a new shower put in a few weeks ago and I'm struggling to keep anything to stay on as a seal between the tray and the store tiles.
I've tried bathroom sealant, silicone, grout and adhesive as well as white plastic corner self sticking tape from homebase. Nothing has lasted more than one soaking. I even tried superglueing the while plastic corner stuff because overnight it would creep off the wall and I'd find it lying on the bottom of the shower tray.
Any ideas short of getting the whole lot ripped out and using a bucket?:o

Thanks for reading and answering. Yes the tiles are stone as well, sort of shiney 1cm tiles that have been grouted if that's what you mean. Mind you it was a tub of grout and adhesive from Wickes that I used and I'm thinking now that there might be a stronger type of grout that needs mixing rather than just slapping on. Do you know if this type of grout is stronger?Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can

I used stone tiles as a border in a bathroom and was told they needed sealing to make them water resistant, do you have any photos that you could post p?0

I was told they don't need to be sealed because they are the shiney ones that water runs off. The tiles aren't the problem though its getting the joint between the tiles and the shower tray sealed. Grout etc stick fine to the tiles but just slides off the stone tray, or lifts off in the case of sealant or silicone etc.Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can

I'll try to post a pic later, DD is currently in the shower, probably causing a flood onto the floorboards where I cant see it

Odd the silicone sealant is not sticking to the shower tray?
Sometimes shower trays have a packaging plastic film covering on the surface, have you checked to see if there is one or that it has been removed before applying sealant?
The shower tray is not flexing is it?
Did you do the tiling yourself?0 -

I wouldn't be using the shower if the joint between wall tile and shower tray isn't sealed, there's nothing stopping water getting to the substrate and if its plasterboard it will turn to mush.
You need to make sure the area is completely dry before applying silicone as it doesn't stick to water so will peel away, any previous silicone also needs removing to get a good bond.
I'd recommend using Mapei silicone as its neutral curing so suited to stone, try local tile shops to see if they stock Mapei adhesives/silicone i know of the nationals that Topps don't but Tile Giant do.
Once applied leave the silicone to cure overnight before using the shower.0
