Increase in IPT (insurance premium tax)

Options
Just got home to find a letter from Tesco Pet Insurance to say that my monthly instalments are now increasing due to the increase in IPT, i've not changed anything on my policy and my annual premium is unchanged. I rang them to ask why they were doing this and they just kept repeating 'it's because of the increase in tax' and that the policy was a monthly policy, i pointed out that i got a quote for an annual policy, my policy shows the period of insurance as May 2010 to May 2011 and nowhere in the policy wording does it say this is a monthly contract, i don't get asked on a monthly basis if i want the policy to continue so how can this be a monthly policy? I feel like this is daylight robbery, how can they charge the increased tax on an annual policy when there are no changes to my policy or premium????????? Anybody else had this???

Yeah I had this but binned it without much notice as it was an increase by 2p per month. I just assumed it was due to the IPT increase to 6% - don't suppose they have much choice but to increase the total charge in this case
