I hope this is the correct place to post this, apologies in advance if not.
I want to book an all inclusive family holiday to Port Aventura in October, this will be our first foreign holiday, so want it to be memorable for all the right reasons. Any tips on what to see, do, avoid.:)

Going to Port Aventura is a highlight in itself, get a program when you are there and work out all the shows times, most shows are about 20/30 minuets long and work going on the rides in between. we also loved going to Barcelona on the train for a day. Tarragona is a bus ride away and very interesting if you have any roman interest. If you are using the bus much get a ticket from the tobac shops in Salou put 10 trips on and you can get to Tarragona for 90c.There are people at most bus stops that are there to help. Also the laser and music fountain show in Salou, I think we went on a sunday evening but finding out when it was on was hard but worth it0

We went in August, and the kids loved it. We did PortAventura at night time cos it was cooler, buy your tickets online before you go and you get a much better deal, we paid for the adults and got the kids tickets free. I dont know what PortAventura water park is like but we went to the one in la Pineda, 2nd day was 5 euros each
. Barcelona is a must! We only went to Nou camp but it was the highlight of all our holidays. Where are you thinking of staying?
Our kids loved it that much they wanted to go back this year! Pm me if there is anything more you want to know xxSealed Pot Challenge #18310 -
We have had 3 family holidays in Salou, and visited Pot Aventura every time, but I dont think I would have stayed at one of the on-site hotels as the park wouldnt have interested them for a whole holiday. We stayed at the Golden Avenida suites, and the kids loved the entertainers and location, and not too far from the park.RIP Iain

Its fab we are going in May to the Golden River we have stayed at all the Port Adventura hotels. Are you staying at the El Paso? If you are it is very nice. The food is fab. You can walk into Saloo about 15mins (walk down to the Caribe and then down the hill). We have been in Oct. It is pleseant in the day but gets cool at night. They go mad on halloween and there is loads of themed stuff. Would also recommend going to the other hotels for a drink (I think you can also switch your buffet to another one for a change one night) they are all nice. You can also have the buffet switched to a restaurant in the park but we found the hotel to be better. Would recommend the wildwest stunt show and there is an indoor cancan type show you can have your lunch at which is good (change it to vampires).
Make sure you see the halloween parade at night it is scary but great.
The rides in the park are excellent and cover all ages if you have very young children beware of the halloween walk in things. They are very intense and could terrify - check them out yourself first (have live actors in them as zombies my husband and 11 year old nearly had a heart attack it was hysterical).
They also have a mega halloween walk once a week - the locals queue for hours to go on it so it must be amazing we passed as my 6 year old would have been terrified.
Have a great time.0
