Which type of insurance is best for this situation?

Hi there, i wanted to know if it is worth getting house insurance if i just want to insure a couple of items 2-3 macs and some dj equipment, would it be cheaper to insure these individually? i only really want to insure against theft and maybe damage
thanks

Is the DJ equipment in relation to a business (do you earn from it)?
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.
  • depends whos asking...just use it at the weekends, not a whole mobile disco just mixer/decks etc, more personal use..
  • If all the equipment is just for personal use and you are not renting out any of it you might as well just get an overall insurance.

I suppose it all depends upon the value of each item and how often it's used. You're more likely to damage your DJ equipment first than the Mac's just due to the nature of them.

Another option would be to do a risk assessment on your items going from high to low in what you consider is most likely to break or get damaged. Then from the list just insure a couple of items if you feel confident the others will last and not break.
