Adding a signature

How can I add a signature to a document in Word? I can scan it but the scan does not want to go to the document.

Comments

  • Scan the sig into a separate file and then insert that file into Word using install Picture, be aware that it it will look like a stuck on pice of paper unless you edit the image to make it a whiite background. There was a similar post on here in the last few days, but I am in the pub so can't search so well on my phone....

Thanks, I did that and it is there when I open the file on my computer, but when I Email it to someone the signature isn't there when they open it!

Sounds like you only created a link to a file that's residing on your computer (the signature file).
Hence the recipient hasn't got access to it.

Thanks again, so how do I do it? I dragged and dropped the scanned image.

First the picture. Open it in Paint and adjust the size to parameters to just slightly ("Image" / "attributes")

Now uncheck "Draw Opaque" in Image.

Save as a GIF. Now you won't have the appearance of a piece of stuck on paper.

Open Word. Insert / Picture / From File.

Paint is a standard part of Windows, so you will have it somewhere.

Photoshop will do the job, though.
