Sorry disagree. The reason house prices went up so much was loose lending, mass fraud and too low interest rates. Lending conditions as they are there is no option but falls.

The level of ignorance of basic economics this post shows is simply outstanding.

It's always supply and demand. How is this not obvious?

Very true, of course demand (desire and ability) was bolstered by available credit

Mmmmmm, what an amazing contribution, typical of a handfull of posters that don't care about anything or anyone else but live only to be seen do better than anyone else through the "size/value of their property".

I don't care if you dislike my message pal(or any one else for that matter), and it does not matter how polite i put it across to you, you simply hate posters that are bearish on property, end of.

Just a few points to be going on with

    1. Too much of this countrys wealth is going into property

    2. Yes i have to dream about buying property, even as a man who earns ok money, do you think you are a bigger and better man than me?:) and if you are a speculator(btl) and own 5 propertys i want one of them.

Actually property speculators were the norm when prices were low. It's only since 70% owner occupation that prices have increased due to supply and demand.

Pointless rhetoric aside - prices aren't going to fall just because someone on the internet with entitlement issues decide they should - the only way you're going to see significant falls is to build a lot of new homes. That would help your tradespeople too.

Agree with a lot of that, why are you being so rude and obnoxious?

Yes i want a property crash

yes i think there is a little evidence that it could happen

No i am not certain that it will happen(possibly because of one of the reason you give)/

LOOK some of you people on here, i would greatly profit from a property crash, so i want one, Duhhhh, it's not rocket science.
I am not coming here with an argument that it is a 100% certain to take place because i am not.

So you think that there's little evidence that there will be a property crash? In my book this means that you're not bearish on property.

The_Fox So why do you want prices to drop 15/20%?? So you can by a home bigger than you can currently afford? So you can buy at all? If prices all of a sudden tumbled 20% tomorrow would you snap up the closest property you could or would you sit back and see if you could buy even bigger for the money?

TBH I cannot see falls anywhere near that. I think 2011 will be pretty flat value wise as in a 100k home on 1/1/11 will still be 'worth' 100k on 1/1/12 buy inflation will of erroded the worth of the 100k. I really do not think there is enough downward pressure in the market to cause an accross the board fall of 15-20%

i was earlier thinking about the house that i "might" get if things go the way i want them to go, dropping another 15%/20%

One obvious point would be you are one of those posters?
Are you bothered about the people who will be in NE or lose their houses to get 15%-20% down just so you can buy what you want?
So you are equally only thinking of you.
