Bizarre experience with ESA, but good news....

I applied for ESA in April 2009 for mental health reasons. It took 7 months to get offered a medical with ATOS. I failed the medical for not seeming crazy enough. I then lodged an appeal. I think I failed the appeal. I was then told I could request a tribunal, which I did. I sent in detailed reports from my psychiatrist. By then it was January 2010. Around June 2010 I had a letter inviting me for tribunal, giving me only about 5 days notice. I let them know I was unable to attend that tribunal due to illness and could I reschedule. They said I could reschedule and that they would write to me with a new tribunal date and that I should expect the tribunal to happen around September 2010. I never heard another thing. Until today.....
I suddenly receive a letter saying the tribunal has now gone ahead (even though I received no notification or invitation to attend!) and that in my absence they have decided I do qualify for ESA, despite having failed the medical. They have put me in the Work Related Activity Group. They have paid me the arrears of the money I should have been getting since 2009.
How bizarre and interesting that they should award me ESA despite me not even being present to put forward my case.
Can anyone tell me what is required of me in the Work Related Activity group as I have no idea.
