hi all
the car my missus drives is in my name on the log book but she is the main driver i am not insured on the car , she uses the car daily she insures it herself in her name fully comperhensive basically her car just in my name
she has had a prang this morning on the ice and ploughed into another oncoming car fortunatly she and our 2 young boys were fine but stoved the 2 front ends in on the cars
now she has rang the insurance up and logged it in blah de blah now she has said well what if they say that i am not the registrated owner, she has said she is when she took the policy out thinking i was changing it to her name but never did
it does state on her policy she car drive any other vehicle not belonging to her with permission so she is defo insured on the other hand
does anybody have any experience on this matter

The registration doc doesn't record the 'owner' just the keeper.
The only problem I can see is that she probably ticked the box saying that she was the registered keeper when she applied for the insurance.
Seeing as she is your spouse, I doubt that will make any difference.0 -

Does she own another car that she is insured on ? If no and she has taken out insurance in her own name , comprehensive to drive the car you own, fine if this was fully declared on the application form. If not phuff. You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0 -

no one has asked the question but the missus is worrying that incase they do like they write the car of they would need the logbook etc which isnt in her name
i think she isnt going to make a claim on the car it will be just the 3rd against her the car is a write off in insurance eyes but would think we could get it fixed up alot cheaper and part-ex onwish i didnt have a life yrs ago!! i wouldnt have been this poor0 -

In that case they'll just pay out the 3rd party and won't ask for your V5.0 -
Although they will pay out to the third party, (assuming your wife is liable), if they believe the policy is invalid over this issue then they will come after her to reimburse them.0
