Freezing! Radiators Not Working

Ive just moved house, and the radiators, which are over 30 years old, are rubbish. Ive just had a plumber in today to replace the living/dining room radiators only, with bigger brand new ones. He also flushed the system through with Fernox.

Therefore I was expecting to come home tonight to tropical conditions. Unfortunately not! The new radiators are hot only at the top and not the bottom. (the thermostats are at the maximum and we've tried bleeding them. Any ideas as to what the problem/solution is would be greatly appreciated as its cold up north tonight!

still sounds like it's still blocked slightly...mine were like that until i added a flushing agent to it and ran for a few weeks...

yes, i don't think you can flush a system in a day, (unless power flush), he,s probably applied, and left in,fernox which needs time to work. another possibility, he may well have cheked, thermostatic radiator valves are !!!!!!s for sticking, unscrew and remove the top part and check that the small protruding shaft will move up and down (a fairly strong spring keeps it up), gentle tapping with a hammer should free it if not.
i'm sure more advice will be forthcoming.
