Duck Feather and Down Duvets

Hi,
I hope I have posted this in the correct forum. I need advice on buying a duvet. I have always purchased duck feather and down duvets but I always end up with the same problem...all the feathers drop to the edges of the duvet leaving the middle empty. The duvet I have on my bed at the moment has pockets sewn in squares to prevent the feathers from moving, but they still have.
Has anyone got any ideas how to stop this? Or does anyone know where I can buy a feather duvet that keeps the feathers where they are supposed to be?
Manythanks

Sounds to me as though you just need to give it a good shake regularly.
Are you following the care instructions? - If you haven't there are plenty available through web searches.0 -
I shake the quilt every day, but the feathers have just have all dropped to the sides. I air the quilt every weekend by hanging it out of the bedroom windows (a trick I learnt in Germany), before putting a new cover on and changing all the bedding. I do everything I can to keep it at its best as it was when I first got it.
I think I will either spend and a good quality quilt or just buy cheap ones and replace as often as I need to.0 -
Buy a pure down quilt next time. The feather and down quilts are mostly feathers whereas down quilts are mainly down. The feathers are heavier than the down and will move inside the quilt with gravity. I have had down quilts for many years. I'm still using one I bought in 1980! Look around the Sales for a pure duck down or, if you're flush, a goose down.0
