Free/ Cheap International Calls using a normal geographic number.

The service is operated by pre-dial.

See: http://groups.google.com/group/uk.telecom/browse_thread/thread/a4f2437b4637a0ae/5e2689b62c8dc812?hl=en#5e2689b62c8dc812

It works 24/7.

The UK geographical gateway number is 01442 826823 .When you here the recorded announcement dial the intl number in full intl format.

Because its using a normal geographical number ,it means that those with inclusive minutes can call it out of those minutes, and for those who pay they will be only charged the cost of a UK Call.

No its not my site i just read about it on Google and thought i would pass it on,as i have done with your mobile unlocking services in the past;) .

The service is provided by https://www.pre-dial.com who i have seen mentioned on this site a number of times.I have nothing to do with them. I thought money savers might just be interested in saving some money.

Where is this geographical number mentioned on their website? They give an 0871 number there.

The Geo number is not mentioned on the site its mentioned in the google link in the op though. I just called it free from my inclusive evening and weekend landline minutes and spoke to spain via it for 20 minutes,it didnt cost me a penny.

    Many thanks for idea.

Thanks very much - the bi-weekly 40 minutes to Spain was free this morning!
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

How do you dial an 0845 number from this? I tried just entering "0845..." and it keeps saying to enter the number to call. If I dial anything else like "44 845..." or just "845..." it says good bye and hangs up on me?

same here... "your number is not registered for service"
  • If you go to the link in my op. Your see
    (A) That it didnt work to 0845 !!!

    (B) A statement from the service owner. "There was a total stampede for the service at the weekend, and more traffic
than expected was received. We have had to turn it off for a while, but will
hopefully have it back up and running within a few days. We will be taking a
look at introducing other numbers such as this in due course."

I am personally amazed that he didnt realise he would get a lot a traffic.
