MSE helpdesk called is it genuine?

After trying to find a motoring quote, I received a call from someone claiming to be from MSE and offering other quotes, after collecting some details, their machine crashed and promised to call me back, I have heard nothing since.
As I have only put info into a couple of apparently genuine websites, I assumed the call could only be from one of those, although normally very cautious of incoming calls, this was so fast after data entry that I assumed it must be genuine.
the number appeared to be from 08443571618.
Can someone please confirm this is genuine as I have heard nothing since

Don't put your phone number into comparison websites unless you want to be called back (again and again, then again and again each anniversary!)

It wouldn't be MSE, apparently its a data aggregator called LeadX if you google the phone number:

It is a scam try putting that number into Google and look what turns up.

There have been a couple of companies trying to make out they were from MSE. One was a dodgy claims company. MSE will never phone you.
