ING Direct - Faster than a very fast thing!

Old news probably for some, but these guys are very fast indeed!

On the 14th (3 days ago) I opened an account online, and the next day sent my cheque off and the documentation they asked for. Got the direct debit confirmation off them yesterday as well.

Today I got my docs back saying all was fine, and my account was opened, and I would receive my welcome pack and PIN in the next few days.

This has to be the fastest service ever with anyone I have dealt with, very impressed so far.

ing are quite good but they have stuck there rates at 5% for ages, for a internet only bank I think it's really poor. There's loads of banks now that are offrening well over 5% on savings.

Like who The A&A account @ 5.35% has a limit of £25K. Otherwise most have a bonus.

You mean A&L, and I'm with you on the others - bonuses to grab the headlines are OK, but only if instant access means instant - you have to wait 4 days to withdraw by BACs (and 4 days to put it elsewhere) and that means you lose interest trying to move after the bonus expires.

ING direct do seem to have a consistent rate from £1, with easy access and no interest penalties like no-interest-in-amonth-if-you-make-the-smallest-withdrawal (am i right?) which makes it a pretty good deal

Have you got your free £10 credit to your account yet by using the codes offered on the referrer's board?

Hi erb, not sure yet mate, just waiting on the PIN coming through to check the balance. Should it show up right away? I used the codes you gave me.

    Hi JasonW and lipidicman

Just checked Ing account online and first £10 credited on 18 Feb ;). As JasonW was first to apply I recon this relates to his account and his £10 should now also be credited to his account.

As you say this is really fast :) .
    Regards
    erb :)
  • Still no sign of it. Guess there wasnt anymor the postie could carry judging by the amount of junkmail that poured through my door today! Worse still, there was loads of stuff to 'the householder' and a strange one for Mr Example. free pen though!

Should show up in the next couple of days, will post back and let you know. I had expected the £10 to take a couple of months, but that is good news indeed.
