Anyone heard of this satnav? evesham nav-cam 6200... £99 in asda, but google cant find anything about it and I went into an evesham shop today and they couldnt find anything about it on their system.
It is a touch screen with preloaded and updateable speed cameras location.
I bought it today as i was told if not happy just bring it back...I cant even get it working so it will be going back, just wondered if anyone else has one or any knowledge of one.

I bought one yesterday too, it worked ok on my trip out last night but did freeze up once before i set out and i had to reset it using the little sliding button at the bottom (setup) however i cannot get it to link with the computer, the software that comes with it syas it isnt a valid win32 application and my active sync wont even pick it up so i am unable to download any mp3's or pictures. So i am assuming this also means i will be unable to access updates via the computer.
I am giving it a week and if i cant suss it out its going back.
I too cannot find anything about onthe evesham website or anywhere else on the www.0 -
I have one too - great little device especially for the money, when I connect to my PC it detects as removable drives, however for Mp3 and photos you should store them on an SD card (not supplied) as the internal memory is used for maps.0

I contacted Evesham - the website will be live in a few days, it appears that the product hit the shelves early - so go grab a bargin while you can. I was assured the device should detect as removable drives on a PC and the update s/w will work on this format.0

MP3 and photo jpeg on SD card (not supplied) 256MB internal memory used for maps of UK0

Thanks for all the replys.
I took the first one back as it kept freezing.
I got another one and tried it out yesterday on a 150 mile trip across the norfolk countryside and it worked perfect and also warned me of possible mobile speed camera locations, I have yet to try the speed camera updates via eveshams website.
I have emailed their website asking why there is no info on their website about this particular model, but so far it looks pretty good for £99
As I was typing this post I have had an email reply from evesham, "I only asked yesterday"..They tell me that the registration and speed camera database for the 6200 is still in development and should be online week commencing 13/11/060 -
ANy one else bought one, had problems etc, still cant decide wether to keep it.0

HI,
my dad purchased one knowing he could take it back within 14 days if he didnt like it! Thats ASDA's excellent customer service.
I went round this morning to help him set it up.
It looks good quality and plays MP3 etc that can be added via a SD MCC (not supplied) up to 2 gig i think. The controls are good, touch screen and bright, the menu is simple to use and i must admit i was quite impressed.
I went outside and picked up lots of GPS quickly, all for £99 IMPRESSIVE!!!
Then came the disappointment, living in Sheffield we looked for the local hospitals err no POI for hospitals, Ok no problem we could remember a street not too far away called West Street, everybody in Sheffield would know West ST.
Search for city - Sheffield Derbyshire? Ok parts of it maybe, but 95% is South York’s, err West st? err no couldn’t find it, ok tried another street and it found it on its data base ok and was correct on the Satnav map, but it said it was in Norton Sheffield when it was at Walkley/ Hillsborough area. Thats the opposite side of the town!
Oh and no mains charger, so it’s off to the car and plug it into the ciggi lighter socket.
Just one last thing, I am sure you will get 100% support from ASDA but not sure about updates from evesham, and they want you to pay for speed camera updates
So its going back for a refund and he is buying a Navman 570 PDA that I recently purchased, after reading these forums.
Hope it helps
All the best0
