About to move onto Stage 3 JSA

So I'm over 25 and been signing on for about 6 months after being made redundant and was told today I was moving onto Stage 3. The guy didn't seem to know much about it but said about more intense job search, courses and voluntary work. I've been asking about help going self employed for a while and was told a few months ago I'll have to wait until a few months.

I'm in North London so know it's different in different areas.

Just curious what to expect to be honest on Stage 3. I might be working on a well paid music project (self employed) in several months if things go to plan and would love some advice but the Job Centre just seem to fob me off.
