Tips for Defrosting Windscreens

I read somewhere that if frost was forecast then you should wipe vinegar onto your windscreen the evening before. In the morning the windscreen is supposed to be frost free. Never tried it though. I just use one of those fluffy mitts with the scraper attached.
Wipe a solution of 3 parts vinegar to 1 part water on the windscreen to avoid the frost that stops you seeing through them.

Vinegar on the windscreen, salt on the roads, fish shop cooking oil in the tank, this is not helping my healthy eating lifestyle at all.0

Boil ONE mug of water in the kettle it shouldnt take long as its only one mug.
Top the kettle up with cold water fromm the tap.
You should now have a kettle full of LUKEWARM water which wont crack your windscreens.
I do it all the time - no problem.

You know, normal cold water from the tap will melt the ice still!! It's much warmer than the ice on the windscreen.
Personally, I just start my car up 5 mins before I leave, and the heaters melt the ice, if I'm in a hurry, squirt it with de-icer.
Did think about getting one of those covers to go across the windscreen.0 -

Just remember to stay in your car when you have the keys in the ignition. Last year a local woman left her engine running while her car was in her drive, and it was stolen in just the few minutes she nipped back into her house.0 -

If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
