I have been using rift for a few years now and have had absolutely no problems with them at all, they actually claim back every single penny i am owed from the taxman, as opposed to "not claiming back too much because the taxman will investigate me" ( 4 of my previous accountants have said this to me).

Thats the reason i initially went to rift, after discussing a few things with them i came to the conclusion that my previous accountants tried to keep my claim below a certain level to avoid any extra work if i was chosen for investigation.

So far rift has claimed back an average of 35 percent more per year than i was getting when using a local accountant so i am quite happy with the service they provide
  • And if you'd claimed it back yourself, you'd have kept 100% of your refund, Sir Spamsalot.

Be very careful in using Rift Ltd. to claim tax back. I recently used them for the first time to claim tax back on expenses for previous tax years. I became suspicious when i received their return and noticed that their fee was exactly a number of pounds and no pence, the VAT fee was exactly a number of pounds and no pence. I did my own calculations and found they were sticking extra on, in both pounds and pence, probably thinking no one would check. When i contacted them to point it out they claimed it was the way the computer was programmed and they had only just noticed, and promised me it would be rectified. I pointed out that it's funny that these errors fell in their favour and not mine, how many other people has this happened to unknown to them because they have not checked the calculations? My advice keep away from Rift, and do it yourself.
