Problem is your car wont be repaired, They will write it off. Even a small parking scuff would cost
more than its worth to fix properly at "insurance rates"

Some companies now charge a small fee for chip repairs.

£10 or £20. Cannot remember if its my current insurers or whether it was direct line that charged?

Dont think you realise how much car repairs are.

With all due respect McKneff I find that comment extremely patronising.

The policy is not being taken out so that I can claim should I have any issues caused by me. Any repairs caused by myself are met by myself. And they always have been.

If you are claiming on someone elses insurance you dont have to have fully comprehensive insurance on your car, your level of insurance is irrelevant.

    *sigh*

If I am claiming on someone else's insurance for and the repair is likely to take several days then I would request a courtesy car paid for by them.

I cannot get a courtesy car with TPFT insurance.

There is less than £5 difference in policy options.

Should my windscreen get chipped then I can get it repaired free and it has more than paid for itself. Should the screen need replaced then I would not claim on my insurance, I would meet the cost myself as it's not cost effective on small runaround cars and it also affects my NCD.

so even a little dent in yours they would write it off.

No they wouldn't as they wouldn't know about it.

Are we becoming quite clear on how I run my cars and policies? Goodo :jWhich is odd as it's not really anything to do with my original musings
