Well I ve had a funny Boots online experience.
Tried all yesterday on and off to order on line. Got through check out and to the pay now page several times then the site would crash. So never managed to order.
Got up this morning thought I would see what was going on 7.30 clicked on Boots took me straight to the pay now page. All my items in stock. Thinks mmm this cant be right. Checks sale page, everything out of stock. Goes back to basket, checks out and pays. Now confirmation email. Very strange. Fingers crossed I get my items :j
Interesting ... One of the main problems last year was that people were adding to basket and before they had time to check out the things were disappearing into someone else's virtual basket who had been able to check out
Once I had added to my basket(s) ... I did not have anything go out of stock on me even though it took 25 minutes or so to check one out ... A problem that kept throwing up the awful 'Generic error' last year
Maybe it has worked better this year as Boots have changed the system so that if you have added sometime to your basket and at least got a part of the way to payment ... Those things have been linked to you and cannot be sold to someone else ... It would make their shifting stock problem work out easier
Let us know if it comes through ... It would be an interesting benchmark of Boot's systems ...

I went in Glasgow Buchanan Galleries yesterday at both 9am and about 4.30pm, and they had quite a lot of stock, although mainly make-up sets, and loads of AA gift packs. There were piles and piles of the Fearne Cotton sets, obviously not a good seller at 66% (ie 3 for 2 price), 50%, or even 25% of "original" price. TBH I wasn't that impressed at their items this year, they really had a load of overpriced tat. A lot of women were leaving hauling 8-10 carrier bags full of make-up kits, but it seems to much effort to me. They don't look that great value, especially if they are selling them on on eBay, once they have factored in postage.0

and here come the ebayers who rip off the unfortunate

Hopefully most people know that £40 RRP means actual original price = £27 (3 for 2), 1st sale price £20, 2nd sale price £10. So at £15 + £5 P&P, you are paying about what you would have paid if you went to Boots in the first sale when stock was well available for weeks. eBay sellers are taking quite a risk buying large amounts if people didn't want them at £20 first time round in the sale.0 -
My boots online order from yesterday has just arrived
I managed to get an order for £20 through at about 8.30am, wanted more but I got fed up with the site, I am pleased anyway as I couldn't get to any decent Boots yesterday. My local one only had strictly cases and a few cards/wrap left last week so I didn't go.
It has been fun hearing about all your shopping trips though!0
