Called into the Northampton branch and i have never seen anything like it. Grappling, arguments and every man for themselves filling bags and baskets, almost clearing the shelves with their forearms in one foul swoop. To quote Elton John i would use the words "Rude Vile Pigs' everywhere. Some women was virtually standing on my feet trying to reach the top shelf.
It was pathetic. The argument was over a Postman Jigsaw' as two women went for it at the same time. Is it always like this. I found it really awkward and unnecessary, and to be honest didn't want to be part of it. Half the stuff people were swiping was utter junk. Even 75% off didn't make it attractive.
I left the store and will return later in the day to pick up some wrapping paper for next year.0 -

~Thanks for letting me know about this. Bought lots of christmassy things last year and it was nice finding it all (had forgotten) when we got the tree out. Wasn't as good as last year only one aisle but I bought my crackers and a few stocking fillers. Looking at some of the stuff left it did make me think a lot of this was way over priced in the first place!
Thanks again.0 -
Just back from Birmingham Bullring/New Street stores
Got there about 8.20 (opened at 8) and it was busy but not frantic. One woman seemed to be doing some sort of tag team shopping - she had 8/9 baskets by the till and as the SA was ringing it through she was going back and adding more  She was still there at the till when I left the store at about 8.50.
Didn't have everything there on my wish list so I picked up the few bits they did have and then wandered over to the New Street store and OMG :eek: It was like it had been attacked by a plague of cosmetic eating locusts :rotfl::rotfl: Nothing left except those mini mango/almond sets, loads of 'bobbypin' (?), chocs and giftwrap. That was it really. Didn't buy anything
Popped back to the Bullring store (had to wait for a bus and it's right opp the bus stop) and picked up a few other bits with my remaining points/vouchers. They still had (at 9.30) piles and piles of Strictly, Gok and Fearne. Oh - and loads of those sweetshop (?) giftsets.
ETA: was stood behind a woman in the queue (2nd time around) and she said she had been at the New Street store when it opened at 7.30 and people were running across the store to get to the sale aisles at the back and by the time she got there one woman had 10 baskets filled already :rotfl:
The poor lad who was working the tills by the self-service checkouts will be knackered by the time his shift ends - he was the only one there covering 4 self-serve and a counter till - I felt real sorry for him
Was funSame time next year then :rotfl:

Well made it to mums for 7.30 ...well just after...and we were outside Boots in Bath by 7.55, few other people waiting ...not too many...doors open at 8am and off we went....!!!!!!!!
Got everything we wanted...everyone else was jealous of our Ikea blue bags...we both had 2....loads of everything to choose from....no fighting like Northampton !!!!!
Would like to say that the Store Manager and 2 SA's ,Sue and Heather were excellent...Manager stopped for a chat and remembered us from last year when we were going straight up to London to see Oliver....they insisted in leaving the store with us and carrying our bags with us to the car about 300 yards away..........it was a pleasure to spend money with Mr Boots this morning..............ADOPT DONT SHOP......🐕🐕🐕🐕0
