Just back from Boots in Speke. Got there a couple of minutes after opening and it was very civilised, about 20 or so people browsing quietly, but it got a lot busier by the time I left. Still aisles and aisles full of stuff but in all honesty, nothing that you'd really GOT to have. Hundreds of Strictly cases, lots of hatboxes, lots of washbags with nothing in them, tbh I found it a bit disappointing this year. I still got 2 bags full of stuff but I certainly didn't get enough to last me the year, as I normally do.

I'm off to town in a bit so will report back from there later!

Just got back from my local (Castle Mall in Norwich). I queued up with a handful of people for 8am opening, there was a fair bit of stuff but by the time I left at 9, stock was flying off the shelves, still plenty of xmas cards and fairtrade hampers left though . I managed to spend over £80 and have most of my presents for the year. Yay!

Thanks to the OP and everyone who's been posting, it's kept my hopes up about the sale, the highlight of my year!:j

Went to my local store this morning, expecting to have to wait until 8.30am for it to open, but instead found a few browers instore, just gone 8.00am! so glad I went early!

What a difference it made, I could browse, pick up what I wanted without a crush down the isles!...an big big big thumbs up :money:to the Ipswich Tavern Street staff for this!.

As I was paying and doing a very quick 2nd round it was getting typically crammed...but got everything I wanted (The Nandos set was a must for my sis and bro in law!) plus a few extra box of choccies for me!

Just looked at my reciepts, and dispite scanning the items in at self service I seemed to have been charged LESS!....dont know what happened there!, only paid £7 odd for stuff which I worked out to be easily in excess of £20 odd quid!...:eek:

Just think how much boots makes in a year, and yet they refuse to update their server!?!

Just back from store, actually managed to get some s&g which I didn't think I would. Got most of the little I was after and was able to use a couple gift vouchers from Coke Zone. All in all not a bad deal. There weren't loads of people, but did see one family team-shopping a *massive* amount! Also most people were polite, but a few stood in the middle of the aisle and wouldn't step aside or even acknowledge when someone asked to pass, which was rather annoying.

There was no-one in my store by the way. Well 1 woman buying formula in a carton for her screaming baby so I'm guessing she didn't plan to be there! lol

just been to large dundee store, got £97 quids woth they had loads but not much for men though
