I don't know the exact answer to this but I would not have thought so, as the Spanish Correo is nothing to do with the UK Post Office.

I can't answer your question sorry but why don't you arrange to have your pension paid straight to your bank acc then you can just take it from there...

  • Yes Tanith is right, if you have it paid into a Bank Account you can just use a cashpoint in Spain.

Post Office accounts are just that and can only be used in post offices, they do fall down sometimes as well, I remember being in our general just before Xmas and the computer was down so nobody could get their pension or benefits, can you imagine the mayhem.
I changed the way my Mother receives her pension when our local PO closed down as I didn't fancy the long queue, now she has it paid into a separate account in her bank and can get it from the machine, she also gets a bit of interest if she leaves some of the money in, better all round as the PO pay you zilch

I'll think you'll find that a card to withdraw money from a Post Office Account can be used at lots of ATM's not just the Post Office , all that needed to be done is to arrange payment of the Pension into the Post Office Account and the money could be withdrawn from as many as 60,000 ATM's countrywide... it also pays a little interest.

My post office account card for benefit cannot be used in ATMS. One of the local post offices has its own ATM and it does work in that one. But if I went to any high street one, no.

I think there might be some confusion here between normal bank accounts that are run by the Post Office, that are open to anyone, can be used for anything and have debit cards, and the special 'Post Office Card Accounts' which can only be used for DWP & HMRC benefits to be paid into and any money has to be withdrawn over the counter at a Post Office

THe OP doesn't make it clear which they have, but I suspect it's the latter, in which case they won't be able to collect their pension at a post office outside the UK
