Help with Spam in Outlook

I am running Outlook 2002 on my PC and have Norton 2011 antivirus software.
There is a toolbar in outlook which nornally allows me to select 'This is Spam' or 'This is not spam' for emails that slip through the net. However I noticed today that both of these functions appeared greyed out and not sure why - they've been working fine until now. The only button that appears to be active is the 'This is not spam' when I'm in my spam folder?
Can anyone offer any advice - I seem to have been plagued with spam emails today!
