Hello ladies, unsure if it's my phone or the site but I've only just managed to get in
Boys course didn't go too badly, I am probably more confused about war hammer now but they have built all of the models which just need painting now.
**rant alert** Not perfect so DP may have a moody, he seemed annoyed when DS1 mentioned damaging one but stuff him they belong to the kids. He's had an issue with me not leaving them which ended in an argument, I do wonder sometimes how deep his head is buried in the sand, it's not as if I'd leave my boys with someone I don't know for the full day without ensuring there has been any sort of checks or seeing what the person was like unlike other parents who seemed to fire the children in (aged 9-12) and left them without leaving so much as a contact number ... Sorry but no way would I do that at all ! Not going to dwell just needed to get it off my chest and nowhere else to.
Ok rant over, flying - 2 washer loads, 1 drier load (rain all day) sorted fridge, did F&V shopping, sorted fridge, sorted freezer, DW twice, cleared a sink blockage, cleaned sink/drainer .... Think that's about all I've managed but don't seem to have stoppedOne day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Happy weekend gang, hope everyone is ok, I haven't looked at the thread for a few days so please take hugs and spoons as required.
I know it is the weekend so we can "chat" but I would like to announce that my cunning plan of leaving the ironing when I go away has worked once more and OH has done it
I have been to Nottingham with my mum today to watch Strictly Live (it was her Christmas present from me) and it was brill. I am exhausted now from the drive though.
Exciting news, I found a wedding dress yesterday and it is now on order. It is far more than I budgetted and that freaked me out a lot yesterday but hopefully I have an answer to that anyway. I am right on the edge for it being a normal/late order so hopefully everything will be ok. We have an appointment with a florist next week to get some ideas. My sisters boyfriends cousin is a photographer who has not long graduated but has taken photos at London fashion week etc. He needs to build up his portfolio so although we live at the other end of the coutry he has said he will beat any quote we get so we may get nearer to what we want to pay now. And the best bit of news, my dad is planning on contributing some money, he has a wedding fund for me which I didn't know about. Mum has told him he either needs to tell me an amount or pay for specific things (all the dresses) so hopefully he will tell me of his intentions before I go home tomorrow.MFW 2025 No. 7 £2331.07/£2700

congrats on finding the dress! And discovering your dad has a wedding fund! (Mine didn't! - He was so shocked when he realised that I was getting married! But in 1987 we managed everything for about £1500!)
I'm so jealous about Strictly - glad you had a good time!
Have hoovered our bedroom, and retidied it after DD2 used it for some photography for her coursework:mad::mad:.
Said coursework is progressing well-ish, but I need to get some black paper tomorrow :mad:..and some other paper so she can try out differing textures. A trial at printing onto tracing paper has worked really well!
Kitchen clean and dried! All washing up done and put away. OH in a mood today because DD2 was doing coursework and has taken over the dining room! Doubtless he'll be in a mood tomorrow when she is finishing it!
Hugs ansd spoons to all who need them. OH went to bed in a huff ages ago - reckon i will finish up and folllow him now.
Goodnight all!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Hello - anyone home?
It's quiet in here - looks round nervously - where are you all?
lil_me - of course you couldn't leave the boys with someone you didn't know and with a group of other youngsters you didn't know - not fair on the boys and not fair on the chap running the class.
cyclingyorkie - as long as everything is cleared up when she is finished getting DD's course work done is (IMHO) justified temporary mess.0 -
Morning Crafty et al,
Busy day yesterday.....finally cleaned the filter on the vacuum!
Have got a problem with the TD which prompted me to clean the filters. It's leaking water underneath - still is. DH has gone out in his lycra and instructed me not to use it until he has a look!
We had to have the plumber back yesterday cos since we had the temp things fitted on the rads - they haven't been working properly.
It's now ok I think? Conservatory which wasn't getting any heat is now toasty. It's lovely being able to go in there cos it's so bright - our lounge is quite dark.
Off to dry my hair and get dressed, then HHI, followed by HHi, followed by HHI. Grr

Well, either everyone else is talking on a different post, or I'm missing all the fun somewhere.
Flying has been restricted this week by everything else I have had to fit in, but I'm trying to stay positive and remember that I nearly kept on top of the dailies - not necessarily every day mind - until Friday when my hmecheck took way longer than I expected (but was successful) and I was so out of time that I ended up with toast for dinner! Planned to spend the whole of yesterday working through the papers for my tax return - but OH 'needed' me to help sort out his cracked windscreen, so I didn't get started until lunch - I did want to go through everything yesterday, sleep on it (not too literally), and then check for any glaring errors or omissions today. Instead of which I was 90% through at 11.45 pm last night, and just had to call it. So, my plan is to finish off this morning, take a break and crack it this afternoon. Wooohooooooooooo. Greenbee, you know you want to do it.
Looking forward to starting a new week of flying, with, hopefully, my first chance of actually using Pigpen's list, although I'm checking carefully to see which of my windows Pigpen's robins are peering into!
Tootifrootie, your list reminds me of a book I saw in a book shop once, and peered into - "The To Do List" by Mike Gayle. I now have the urge to read it, and am going to have a search later to see how cheap I can buy it for.
I haven't decided whether your list is growing or not ......... ? But I can see that you 'only' need to tackle 3-4 jobs a week, and it'll be completed by Christmas. Maybe I will have a list next year - this year it would take me longer to write the list than to crack on and do it - but I've had lots of practice at letting it get that bad.
Off to complete the last 10% of my tax paperwork. You shouldn't see me again until late afternoon, otherwise feel free to chastise me.Work is not my Hobby0 -

Dw unpacked
Ironing done!!!! (by me this time)

Morning all
Sexymouse - that poor lady, I can offer no help as she is too far way which is a shame as I have cupboards bulging with food, I ditched S@nt@nder a long long time ago!
Dad is breathing a bit better and is on a smaller mask for some of the day, the Nurses were able to get him to sit on a chair for a little while yesterday but he still can not eat any solid food yet so is still being drip fed and his blood is still "wrong" so will have to go back on Kidney Dialysis [sp?] again. I haven't been to see him for 3 days as I've had a cold but I'm going today and taking the kiddies with me
DD's ear is getting better but I'll keep her off school for a couple of days so that I can moniter her movement!
DS is fed up with everyone being oorly but at just the right time the Postie has just brought some parcels that we were missing so he has a new DS game to keep him happy for a while. Posties are doing extra deliveries today to catch up with their backlog.

Good news about your dad Helen, it sounds very positive. I'm sure he'll be pleased to see you and the children so enjoy your visit. How is your mum coping?
