plain ONE-WAY GLASS WINDOW contra vision for the home

Anyone seen plain ONE-WAY GLASS WINDOW contra vision for the home?
Like this stuff?

http://www.contravision.com/unique_benefits.html

My DD is buying a ground floor flat that has two huge glass windows in the living room.

It would be nice to see out without living in a goldfish bowl.

You say it would be nice to see out without others seeing in, but would this work of a night when you're sitting in the room with the light on and the people outside are in the dark ?????

    Don't know.

But the curtains would be drawn anyone - so wouldn't matter.

But I guess, it would work the other way!!!!

The stuff you've linked to though , isn't that the same stuff (a plastic film) they use on airport buses in hotter countries so that the bus is all liveried up including the windows and so stays cool, but you can still see thru since is actually just a collection of small dots.
The non see thru ness comes from the image printed on the out side, the eye can't see past it although there are lots of holes

I have the same problem and just put up some light blinds.

They are left always down, but you can easily see through them during the day, and people outside can't see in at all. It's quite amazing from the outside how well they work, and how well you can see what is going on outside from inside. Very cheap, look good and effective.

However, at night-time you have to close the curtains. At night you can't see out, but people outside have a fantastic view of you!

I was just pointing out (in a round about way) that I don't think plain will work, it relies on the external image

Interesting blinds those - I'm always having trouble with "reflexes" on the TV

"Roller blind that filters the light; reduces reflexes on TV and monitor screens."

  • Ive recently fitted privacy film to two windows...Very easy to fit cost £16 for the film for the two windows...Can see out in the day time but cant see in.....Curtains and blinds are closed on an evening so no problems with privacy in the evening...Do a google search of privacy film
