Gas oven installation

Been trying to find out information on whats needed to be done when getting a gas cooker installed?
We're thinking of getting a combi gas/electric cooker but theres no fittings for the gas.
Do they just put copper piping onto the gas pipes we have then put it over to where the cooker is?
I know we have to get a corgi engineer but it's just to save having to get sombody around for a quote before we buy
Thanks
James

Gas pipe will be either taken from exisitng pipes or a new run of pipe taken from the meter.A presure loss of 1mb is allowed for the pipework across the instalation so the existing pipes may or may not be suitable to tee off to the cooker.0
