can't help with uninstall, but I fixed the opening links issue by resetting firefox as my default browser.

I think it happened by having 1.5 and 2 beta at the same time and then removing 2 beta, and upgrading 1.5 to 2 (if that makes any sense what so ever!!!)

It is worth persevering with, cos Thunderbird is far better than Outlook/Express INMO. Firefox also beants IE.

The big advantage of FF 2.0 is that it has a built-in spell checker (hint hint). Surprisingly "Thunderbird" and "Firefox" show up as spelling errors, but it recognizes your vernacular usage of "cos". However it does spot the mistakes "INMO" and "beants". Finally "IE" is tagged as a mistake - which anyone who uses firefox would surely agree with.
