Unsure of the wording on a single yellow line...

  • I was dropping the dog off at the vets but I doubt I'll get away with saying that was unloading will I because they observed for 6 minutes?

    I'd read it as:

7.5tonne trucks must not wait/park here at any time (although they may load/unload), between the hours of 8pm-7am Mon-Fri and at any time over the weekend. (Guessed by comparing 640.2A on p48 of http://www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/roads/tss/tsmanual/tsmchapter3.pdf)

That accounts for everything in the sign, except that blue circle ... and I've no idea what that bit means.

Generally, as a rule of thumb, I never park where there are any yellow lines whatsoever - as I can never feel 100% sure I've read the correct sign that applied to those few feet of road. I am scared that there's another sign somewhere that I didn't see, or that I misinterpreted the one I am reading..... I hate parking in a road with 200 other cars when I can clearly see/read the signs and feel confident I am right. I'd rather go home than take a chance, too scared to park the car anywhere except a proper car park (and even then the signs/rules/payment/etc worry me).

Can someone tell me if I was actually in the wrong to park on a single yellow line the conditions were mon-fri midnight - 7am and 8pm - midnight, Sat and Sun at any time I parked at 9.40 on a Thursday? It has a picture of a 7.5t truck does that affect it at all?
    Thanks
Sounds like you are in a cpz with the restrictions on the entry boards so check for them. They only have to put separate signs up if there are restrictions which differ from the cpz signs.
Get copies of both sides of the pcn and remove personal bits, host on tinypic and copy the url for forums and paste it here and remove the http:// bit. Also post all on pepipoo.

Circle means no waiting. Tried reading the highway code? lol

I would read that as Goods vehicles could park between 7am and 8pm, Were there any other signs?

I think if the no waiting was meant to apply then it should have its own sign of the correct size with the times it applies to,
Not a small faded circle on another sign.

Checking that link above that sign should only apply to goods vehicles. Other road markings?

Blue circle with red circumference and diagonal line means no waiting.

That one's blue with a white edge and a white diagonal line.

And then register and start a thread with your scans and pics on pepipoo forums here:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=30

They will get you off this I expect. We are quite knowledgeable here but would always bow to their greater judgement and experience. Most people get off Council tickets with pepipoo's help.

That jpeg doesn't give us access to the album so can you post the back as well, and put it all on pepipoo as soon as you can register and post there.
