We use a covered litter tray and silica gel crystals (both from Pets at Home) - scoop out number 2s as soon as you notice them and the crystals lock the smells away.

I use Pets@Home wood pellets & the is no smell at all when Daisy does her doodoo's..Good value for money too.I have the litter tray in a large sturdy cardboard box to catch all the stuff that doesn't stay in the litter tray!

  • Covered trays are supposed to work very well - i just have a normal deep tray and use Tesco value cat litter - it really does a good job of keeping the smells away. In an emergency last week i bought the Co-op equivalent - don't!! it reeks in the worst way, doesn't cover any smells at all.

I buy the Tesco value as well- seems to work the best IMHO, but I do put some kitty litter freshner in it. Seems to work a treat. Again, like most people though I scoop out the 'lumps'. Oh and the covered tray seems to keep the smells in a bit better (for some reason I have one covered and one uncovered).
