Obtaining credit reports - dates

I am planning to credit reports.

It says it wants to know what date I started living there/date moved in. However, I moved into a new house in May 2010. I didn't put my name on the rolling register, but put my name on the voters roll during the canvass period (September/October 2010).

I will put May 2010 on the online form as that's the date I started living at the address/moved into that address, but I have heard that the dates will be 'October 2010-present'.

Out of curiosity, how will they authenticate me properly? I'm confused. What dates do you guys put to obtain the reports?
