Please help! Living with partner and claiming housing benefit

Out of curiousity, does anyone know if you can claim ESA/JSA after claiming income support? I mean the contributions based elements of those benefits. What happens to your contributions when you're claiming income support? Should I ring the HRMC and ask?
While you claim IS, your contributions towards your state pension will be credited, but not contributions towards ESA/JSA. So any entitlement to ESA/JSA would depend on your previous contribution record. Unless you were working and paying national insurance for 2 years in the period 2008-2010 (can't remember the exact start and end dates, sorry) then you wouldn't get contribution based ESA or JSA.
If you're not sure if you're entitled, it's Jobcentreplus not HMRC that you contact.0 -

Thank you for your response! Entitled to says I'd be able to get housing benefit, but I wanted a human's input on it. I am freaking out a little because I have to move pretty much now.
I have run the details you have provided through our benefit calculator and it has indicated an entitlement to Housing Benefit when claiming as a couple (with the LHA rate you provided of £190pw) though not full entitlement.
If you want to check the relevant LHA rate for your circumstances and area you can visit www.hbupdate.com but you will need a postcode to be accurate.
The number of people who live with you as members of your family determines how many bedrooms you need and the size of the accommodation you will qualify for under Local Housing Allowance rules. You are as a couple entitled to the one bedroom rate.
