NONCU stands for "non cumulative" meaning that his allowances are not all added up for the part of the year that he was not working.
As others have said JSA is included when calculating his total taxable pay - but as he is being so laid back about it I would not worry.... he can use it like a savings scheme and claim any money back in April/ May ...he prob would not save without it !!
I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes
