I have a Dell Inspiron laptop which was new a year ago.
Last Feb/March I used to take my laptop to my singing lessons so that I could play my itunes songs during the lesson. But turned out my microphone was giving feedback so somehow I managed to disable it. However I now have absolutely no idea how to re-enable it. I have tried everything I know how to do - I use Sykpe to speak to my fiance, 200 miles away.. and its frustrating not to be able to use the inbuilt microphone.
I have tried selecting the Audio settings on the Skype tools panel but it comes up as saying 'microphone' : None and yet that's not the case!!!
Can anyone please help me?
Thanks

As you don;t state an operatin system, makes it hard to help. I have Windows 7 but I'm almost certain Vista would be the same and XP either the same or close to.
Go to start and select Control panel. Click on Hardware and sound. Select the recording tab and play about with the settings there. I find the best way to find stuff out is to just play about with stuff, try different things and see if it works. Remember what you have done though so you can undo it if it doesn't work. You don't want unnecessary problems in the future lol.

Sorry if this doesn't help. Worth a try.Thought for the day: each generation of mankind tends to hug the illusion of having reached the culmination of human achievement. Yet, as we scoff at our groping ancestors, so our descendants will surely scoff at us.
