Hi,
I came across gregory pennington's current bank account for people with very poor credit (even bankrupts). They're a debt agency and charge you £25 to open the account with The Royal Bank Of Scotland then £8 a month for a year.
Has anyone got one of these or tried to get one of these please??

I would completely stay clear of it what an a con. You can open a nationwide flex account even if you have been declared bankrupt.
That comes with all the facilities and more i.e internet banking than what they are offering.0 -
you can't get a current account from a high street bank if you have bad credit history0

Sorry I disagree I have been declared bankrupt and as such have a very bad credit history but I do hold three current accounts opened after my bankruptcy. Nationwide have no problem opening the flexaccount for people who have been declared bankrupt.0

Basic accounts are available in most banks for those with credit problems, hubby has poor credit and is in a DMP (dent management plan) and has a CCJ yet was able to open a basic account, Free of charge!
Friend of ours has just been declared bankrupt and has just opened a halifax basic account.

Hi
I am a customer of GP and I think they are fantastic. I haven't tried their bank account but I have several debts that they have taken control of and the relief that I had was brilliant. I do pay £25 per month but if you are struggling with the amount you have to pay they will reduce it and talk to your creditors so you don't have too. I have found all the staff fantastic and have a personal finance advisor who is absolutely fantastic as well. It has been a load of my mind and they want to get you debt free as soon as possible which is great. I also have life insurance with them and this is good too. I pay a small fee for myself and my partner for a good life cover and I have tried others and their figures cannot be beaten. So anyone thinking of GP as an option I thouroughly recommend them.0 -
hi,
gp are a last resort but fine.
not every one can get a basic account,i tried everywhere and all said no.
i then applied on line for a a and l ac and got accepted, got turned down for a basic ac with them a few week before.
everyone should be able to get a basic ac but many people still can t.
good luck0 -
