1K return flights to Kenya!!!

Hello, Id be very grateful to hear any advice on how I could reduce the cost of flight tickets to kenya. There will be me and 3 family members going and I got a quote of £900 return each. This is rather expensive

We are flying out in late July in the peak period (we cannot fly out any other time). I read somewhere that I could reduce the costs if I have a stop over in europe but im not too sure about this.

Thanks :D

  • You could walk?

No, but seriously if you are travelling long haul and split it up (i.e have a stop) then it should reduce it. Look on expedia and where it says how many stops put "1" as the number. This should offer you a cheaper selection.

Keep in mind though getting you and the family off a plane, sitting about for hours, then onto the next plane can be a real pain in the backside...

A quick look at Kayak, and Netflights can do outbound 16th July, returning 2nd August from Gatwick with Qatar airways for £490 each return. Fairly long stopover in Doha on the way out, but its cheap!

I just travelled with Qatar last month for the frist time and was very impressed with the service although i'm not sure how comfortable Doha would be for a long stopover. I only had time to go round the duty-free and then my connecting flight was already boarding. They are upgrading the airport but it won't be finished till 2012. The ground floor where the duty-free is looks like it has already been done but when you go upstairs to the departures, you can tell you are in a developing Middle East country.
