NO! Never give up :D I had won very little since starting comping late 2009. All off a sudden, in the last two months I had decent wins from Neom (Huge scented candle worth £150), Daily Mail (Fortnum and Mason Christmas hamper) and I won £1000 from the mullerlight comp just before New Year!

I was ready for giving up, didn't enter so many recently....but I'm going to enter as many as possible now, and hoping to win more in 2011!

Don't gamble, except for Lotto, so I would say it's an excellent hobby to have if you can spare a little (Huge amount, Depending on what comps you feel like entering) time!

Best of luck to you :)
  • Sorry you've been going through a dry period but deffo don't give up. I agree with Treacle the 'Fabulous' app is nice and seems to have loads of prizes.

Good luck, hope you get a biggie soon!

I agree, don't give up just yet unless you're really hating it. A big win, or win full stop, is just round the corner. If you're mainly entering for bigger prizes then it may take a while.

What is this fabulous competition everyone is talking about?
    2009 Wins = £833
    2010 Wins = £6,597
    2011 Wins = £7,083

    £2,012 in 2012 = £450/£2,012
    20 in 2012 = 4/20
  • Sorry to hear about your dry spell.

I enter around 5000 a month and had no wins this year. Starting to wonder whether this year is going to be lucky, but then you never know when you may win do you?

Keep at it if you enjoy it but if it's not fun then give it a break for a while and see how you go :)

Thanks for all your messages, its hard to say how many i do,mainly itv compe, holidays, cash, tickets comps, each day is different.

Dont give up but you really need to do more of the smaller prize comps. Ive been comping for 2 1/2 years now and have NEVER won cash/car/holidays but have won loads of prizes that have come in very useful eg havent had to buy any makeup for 2 years, several items which have saved money eg Xmas Turkey, wine, fruit juice, perfume, many items which I have sold to make a bit of cash.

  • Don't give up just maybe alter the type of comps you enter a little - if you just enter alot of lucky dips then obviously the odds of winning are less overall - I tend to enter comps where a bit of effort is needed as they attract less entries - photo comps, tie breaker comps etc - I subscribe to a compers mag to try to keep me motivated but I do go through stages, I don't enter every month and only a handful at a time - but I have won (and I have won some lucky dips) - to date huge range of FCUK products, Herbal Essence products, football game tickets, weekend break in Blackpool, a nice handbag, £50 garden centre vouchers and most recently a £500 farmstay holiday in Cornwall.
I don't tend to bother with internet comps, can't stand the inbox clogging with all the junk mail!
