pipe leaking at speedfit joint?

We have today had to take 3 radiators off because we need to plaster the walls. we turned them off at the valves and all were fine
however when we have smashed the wall out the clips holding the two pipes to the wall were not longer holding the pipes and i guess the weight of the copper pipes were not supported. Also there would of been a bit of movement of the pipes throughout the day
we noticed later on that there was water coming out of the join of where the two copper pipes go into the plastic speedfit joint
we tried making sure it was pushed in tight but it was still leaking
we turned the water off, the boiler off and have drained the water out of the system
i have left it off for tonight and i will be going back tomorrow.
not sure what i need to do to sort it?
thanks

You'd probably be better off buying a new joint.
You can replace the O rings in some pushfit connectors, but most of the time you are better off with a new joint as the grip rings might be damaged etc.
When there is no pressure in the pipes the joint should easily pull off, by either twisting to unlock (newer type fittings) or some older ones have a collet clip that will need removing. You also have to push the collet towards the fitting to release the pipe.0 -
do B&Q sell the fittings?
thanks0 -
They do.
Make sure any pushfit joints that connect to plastic pipe have pipe inserts or you will have possible leaks.0 -
i don't have a wickes but there is a B&Q, was hoping they sell it0
