Gas grill vs toaster?

Just made myself some toast and jam to keep me going and got to thinking about the cost.
Like most people, I'm sick of the gas price hikes we have had recently and looking at ways to cut the bill.
Never really had a toaster and grilled all toast under the gas grill. Is this economically sound.....? (Im thinking not but need confirmation) and is it worth me investing in a toaster?
