help new laptop not what we expected

:mad:We ordered a Samsung R730 17" Laptop in the next directory

this is the description:-

HD Led Screen, Intel 13 330m, Supermulti drive, cardreader and wifi,

item 726-496-x46

I thought that the laptop we were ordering was a i3 processor.
Next are telling me it is a intel 13 I said I dont think that exists, i think it has been misdescribed in the catalogue we have a intel dual core t4400 2.2ghz.

I feel angry should I be. Is it just me or did they describe this incorrectly in the catalogue. I have been offered a refund if I am not satisfied what should we do? we paid £425.

I have spent over 2 weeks waiting for this product from them and we also had to drive and collect it over half and hour away from our house, lost money in phone calls to them and so forth.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks
Lisa

You are entitled to a full refund, as the goods are not as described.

As you were inconvenienced in collecting it, it could be worth asking them for a discount on a future order.

Id deffo be asking for a full refund on that, you got more than enough grounds for full refund on this one since it clearly states I3 on the website and is clearly not!

Id make sure you get a print out of that website though before they go and change it or something :)

  • Are you sure you have received the correct laptop?

The Samsung website also says it has the i3.

When you search 'R730' on the next website an Intel Pentium T4500 model comes up (item: 414-985-X47).
The model you ordered is still showing. You should send what they sent you back as you are unhappy and as you were inconvenienced on the delivery you could try a complaint. Personally I would use the contact section on the web site (sorry can't post links) which has a complaints option - because I'm phone-a-phobic!

I'm getting worried - I ordered the R530 (item: 726-166-X46) before Christmas. It hasn't arrived yet but they keep telling me they should have stock soon. I will definately be checking I get an i3 model.

    I'm tempted to ask

Will the processor really make that much difference to the performance of the laptop?

and suggest that you might have fared better had you not bought a laptop from a clothing retailer......
  • Thanks for your advice.

I am also asking if the processor will make that much difference to me. We will only be surfing and doing homework on it anyway.

But then it annoys me that retailers can misdescribe and inconvenience people.

The reason we purchased it from Nxt. we were about to buy the 15" samsung for £25 more from argos. And then we saw the larger laptop for less money thought it was a good deal.

I am going to call Samsung on tommorow see what they say and I will speak to next again. Might get somebody better midweek as the lady I spoke to insisted it had a intel 13 as described in the catalogue. I explained that Intel don't do a 13 but wasn't getting anywhere.

^Certainly the i3 is a more powerful processor but the dual core will handle your requirements admirably / what's the price difference between the two/ if it's negligible, go for the i3 -- but it's one of many factors ///
