    Unless a saving account comes with some 'premium' current account, your credit history doesn't matter as applying for a savings account doesn't involve a credit search. Start with reading Martin's guide: Starting Saving

    AFAIK credit unions pay very low interest. They are good for borrowing, not for savings.
