Telwest Wireless.....

Morning

I have just ordered Telewest for my new house, and was wondering what people would recommend to get a wireless network running.

I have never used Telewest/NTL before so am a bit in the dark. Previously used BT (phone) and Virgin Internet with ADSL and a Linksys ADSL wireless router. So I know the wireless stuff, just not the cable stuff.

Someone I work with has suggested that I may be able to get away with not getting a new router as the cable modem normally has an RJ45 socket that I can plug into one of the network ports on the linksys.

But I'm not sure. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Jon

Telewest offer wireless Netgear routers - if you just ordered you could probably get it free. Give them a call
  • Hi, I use Linksys WRT54G with my Desktop PC which then gives me wireless access with my laptop

It was quite easy to set up, the cable plugs into the ethernet port on the cable modem (Telewest) into the router, and then into the PC

    Hope this helps
