Hotels in Cardiff

Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone knows of any good sites/deals for hotels in Cardiff. I have to go down for a few nights at the end of the month. I've been having a look around but they all seem so expensive compared to everywhere else in the UK.

Any help would be much appreciated (On a bit of a tight budget with Christmas coming up). Thanks.

  • I don't know of any specific sites (other than https://www.laterooms.co.uk) - but what area in Cardiff are you visiting? I know Cardiff well and can maybe tell you which hotels.
  • There are a lot of 4+/5* hotels in Cardiff.

Try The Big Sleep for somewhere central and reasonable.

  • Hi

This is a good general website for Cardiff https://www.cardiffontheweb.com

Do you want a hotel or b&b. Cathedral road is a good location for b&bs just make sure they have secure parking at the back.

The Village hotel is a nice spot. Its out of town a little with acces to the city centre.

Also, the Ibis is good value. Right in the City Centre too. Lots of small hotel in the Cathedral Road are, very handy for town. Which area will you be working in?
  • I always bang on about this site but try

    https://www.booking.com

Always ring the hotel before you book as sometimes their "reduced rates" are actually their standard rates..... However you can bag some real bargains from here.

Agree with Hansi - Ibis is good - right in the centre, close to train stations, restaurants etc but away from the nightclubs. I always recommend this one.

Cardiff is a fab place but like all cities there is good and not so good (and awful!).

You need to avoid Riverside and Newport Road, but be careful 'cos Cathedral is good yet it's only half a mile from Riverside!
  • Cathedral Road is lovely but you do need a b&b with secure parking at the rear. The street looks nice and it is but some locals stroll up from other areas to see if you have left any items in your car etc.

  • Hi everyone,

Thanks for your advice, I will definately look into what everyone suggested. I will be in the centre of Cardiff, I usually stay at the McDonald Holland House, can usually get a good deal, but their prices are so expensive at the moment. Thanks again, I'll post if I find any great deals!
