Council Deposit help scheme

I am having to move from my rented house and don't have the money to put together for a deposit for a new place.

I have been told there there is a Council scheme that may help me, but have been unable to get through to the Council for information on this.

Is anyone aware of this scheme and how it works? Is there a scheme that would help me with moving costs at all?

My only income is long-term IB.

It varies from area to area - have you checked your LA's website?

Yes, I have looked and they make reference to the scheme but don't give any details about eligibility or access criteria.

I could be wrong but I think each LA sets their own criteria. However, here is a good description of the criteria that one uses.

ETA: That looks quite straightforward. I'll do my best to get through to the Council next week to find other details. They very rarely answer the phone and don't phone back if you leave a message which is why I was trying to find other ways of getting the info.
