    Thanks will get a quote from them also, have to try and get a joiner to which wont be easy :(

    white pine would be best. If you have to replace a spindle or two due to the kids, at least its not going to cost a fortune. A hardwood handrail might be worth investing in.

    Thanks, it doesnt show the white pine on door stores website, maybe have to go into the shop, wonder would it be much more expensive than the ordinary pine one

    if you check out screwfix.com website you'll get the white primed ones. They are more expensive, but they'll work out cheaper and they'll look neater when finished. (less imperfections, etc as they are sprayed with primer)

    My advice would be to buy the white primed pine, get the joiner to assemble everything and then give the spindles a final coat once assembled.
